Council brings inclusive play to local parks
New communication boards that support inclusive play have been installed at parks in the Carnes Hill Community Precinct and Casula Parklands to help people with disability, language barriers and vision impairment.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the communication boards enhance the social experience and interaction between people of all backgrounds and abilities.
“Through simple pictorials that represent words and activities as well as Braille, anyone with a disability or anyone facing language barriers or limited expressive abilities can use the communication board to show what they would like to do and express how they feel,” Mayor Waller said.

Raise the drawbridge
The year 2020 was without precedent and it has not done with us yet. The geographical advantages of our remote island location together with decisive Government action have protected us from the worst of the accursed Covid-19 but we cannot afford to relax.
It is disturbing to read of a number of mariners arriving with symptoms.
While it may be criticised as selfish, we should keep the drawbridge up to preserve our relatively secure and controlled situation.
